Prevent sadness

Research says that two hormones called serotonin and dopamine play an important role in mood. It’s normal that when you’re feeling down, you need something that makes you feel good, probably a candy. the candy stimulates dopamine in the brain’s reward center while indirectly stimulating serotonin.

But eating sugar regularly can mask the bad times but over time it leads to problems like high blood sugar, more weight, more damage to arteries. So how about using a healthier solution.

The healthiest solution is to eat protein with slow-absorbing carbohydrates like sweet potatoes, nuts. Increasing fruit and vegetable intake also helps improve mood as fruit and vegetables have antioxidants that can influence part of the brain towards optimism.

Studies were carried out by the University of Warwich Medicine with 14,000 people in which those who ate five or more servings of fresh produce a day had much higher levels of mood and well-being than those who ate only one serving.

So researchers suspect that B vitamins, antioxidant nutrients and healthy fats like omega 3, present in salmon, seeds and nuts make the difference.
